Installation of New Church Doors

On Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at long last, the new Church doors were installed. Donated in memory of the Franco and Witiak Families, the doors replace those which have been in place on the Church for the last forty years. Marcel Breton, of Breton Construction, assisted by parishioner and master carpenter, Frank Meyernick installed the new doors. The project was overseen by "Parish Facilities Manager" Tom Decerbo. The posted photos show scenes from day 1 of the installation project.

The first order of business is to remove the old doors.

In order to remove the old door frame, some of the vinyl siding has to be temporarily removed.

The right hand door is brought to the Church from the garage where painter George Sutyak stained and finished them. Made of fiberglass to better withstand the harsh New England climate, George's expertise in this difficult medium gave the doors the desired oak wood grain look.

By 1:30 pm both doors were in place, and the workers took a much deserved break.
